Welcome to the web version of ORAD II

The purpose of this program is to assist you in generating a differential diagnosis for radiographic lesions of the jaws. It will evaluate information you provide and compare it to data from over 150 of the most common lesions manifested in the maxilla or mandible. Please provide the clinical and radiographic information requested. The program is intended to work with radiologists, not replace them. This is not a man versus machine issue. Accordingly, one of the most powerful features of ORAD is the function that allows the user to remove lesions. The differential will include many items consistent with the 16 questions but which on inspection are clearly not relevant. The way to obtain the best differential is to answer the first 16 questions in the program and then the operator should remove lesions from the differential that are clearly not correct. This process may have to be repeated two or three times. The resulting differential is generally the most helpful. It may also be helpful to run the program changing the answers to the first 16 questions if the answers do not fit a case exactly.

This program is intended to serve as an aid to the clinician. It is NOT a substitute for professional judgment.

This program is shared for the purpose of advancing oral radiology. It may not be sold or used commercially. Users are encouraged to suggest improvements.
